To any installing drives, carefully study and ensure you're prying the right thing, I'm sure a more careful person would have completed the upgrade without issue. Until I was sure of this, I was horrified that I had possible destroyed the machine. Fortunately it works fine, as long as you need neither the flickering LED light, nor the remote. The only reason my view is not a 5 is that when I installed a large hard drive with a kit from OWC, one tiny little connector, which controls the infrared remote, crumbled.

So a collection of leftovers from the past decade solved a very real problem, for very little money. Maybe 5 minutes to get it running vs 3 minutes for a laptop? People look at you oddly when you set it up in the study areas at school, But probably because they have MacBook pros their parents paid for, and I had a spare monitor and a little box on wheels with a handle that fits my books and bright yellow extension cord. In fact, the Mac mini is easily bundled with the cables and peripherals and connected to another screen. Apple Mac mini 2011 Intel Core i5 2. None of these are criticisms of the machine, and in fact, I have been reminded that I have little use for a laptop. It reminded me that there is a very important wisdom to the phrases 'good enough', 'fit for purpose', or even 'this will get me by'. The machine exceeded all my expectations in fact, running faster and faulting less than I assumed a decade old computer would do. Since for me entertainment does not include gaming, this was perfect and thousands or more cheaper than replacing my stolen laptop with a similar machine. I do video editing very rarely, and that is slow slow slow, but I deliberately chose the cheapest model as I was computer free, and needed a browsing entertainment and comms device. Rating: 4/5 I'm using it right now OctoAs shipped, it was out of the box and working perfectly in about ten minutes, and does everything I need.
